Can all tyres be repaired?

Unfortunately not. Before attempting any puncture repair, our experts will thoroughly inspect the condition of your car’s tyre. We only proceed with repairs if the following conditions are met:

  • The tyre tread depth must be at least 1.6mm, which is the legal minimum. If the tread depth is 1.6 or lower, we recommend fitting a new tyre instead of repairing it.
  • The central strip of a tyre, which sustains the most wear and tear, can be repaired if the damage is within the minor damage area, which is about 3/4th of the strip.
  • The sidewalls of a tyre are critical for cornering control and stability, as well as load-bearing ability. Damage to this section can compromise the structural integrity of the tyre and jeopardise your safety. Therefore, we do not conduct repairs on sidewall damage.
  • The carcass condition of a tyre is crucial for optimal braking, traction, control and grip. Our professionals will not perform repairs on tyres with exposed cords or punctures or cuts larger than 6mm.

Signs Of Damaged Tyre

Here are some signs (apart from the obviously flat tyre) that your tyres may be damaged and need attention:

  • Uneven tread wear
  • Cracks or cuts in the tyre sidewall
  • Bulges or blisters on the tyre surface
  • An object stuck in your tyre (in such a case, do not try to remove it)
  • Excessive vibration while driving
  • Decreased tyre tread depth
  • Difficulty in maintaining proper tyre pressure
  • Loss of grip or traction on the road
  • Vehicle pulling to one side while driving or braking
  • Squealing or screeching noises while driving

If you notice any of these signs, it is important to have your tyres inspected by a professional to determine if they need to be repaired or replaced.
